Pilates in Australia
We stumbled across this Pilates video clip on YouTube recently and had to find out the story behind it. Itâs clean, crisp and professionalâand an exciting example of whatâs possible with Pilates. The fast-motion Wunda Chair sequence is especially amazing. It was produced by Louise Taube, a Polestar- and STOTT Pilates-trained studio owner in Melbourne, Australia. We interviewed her via email to get more information about the video.
PP: Why did you make this video?
Louise: For a number of reasons⦠ I wanted to draw attention to myself and my website www.louisetaube.com, and also to show the world how fun Pilates is and just how many exercises are possible on the equipment.
I used to make dance films, and I really wanted to show the equipment dancing and to bring a fresh perspective to the exercises.
I guess I am interested in reaching as many people as possible with Pilates â it has changed my life and I really want to tell the world about it!
PP: How are you using the video?
Louise: Making the clip was a dare for myself, and also a jumping board for one of my dreams of making Pilates DVDs and selling them to the world.
I guess I wanted to see responses to it and to generate courage for the next step of making a DVD. And now my first DVD is in production and will be available at www.louisetaube.com. Â
PP: What has the reaction been to it?
Louise: My clients were impressed and have become more loyal. Â Some were awestruck. Â I have a few new clients from it and interest from people outside of Australia who would like to do Pilates with me but are a bit too far away!

Where can I buy a Thera-band or black pilates band in Australia?
I can’t order it online, anyone know where I can buy one in a shop?

i’m pretty sure you can get one from bloch, and if you can’t find one there, you’ll probably find them in sport shops – like rebel.
